Aged care compounds becoming soft crime targets

But evidence is mounting that age-apartheid compounds are increasingly becoming soft crime targets and the care sector is trashing its reputation by doing nothing to effectively counter the growing threat.

1198: A carer who stole from vulnerable pensioners to feed his gambling habit has been jailed. The 29-year-old took blank cheques from the bedrooms of the two men, aged 89 and 92 years and then wrote them out to himself, paying them into his own bank account.
